Jessamine Marie. Content Designer

Jessamine Marie is a freelance Content Designer. Mainly contracted to GOV.UK, she contributes Content Design to Government Digital Services (GDS) that enable users to find information quickly and easily, seek guidance, or navigate a service.

Jessamine also has more than ten years of experience in Technical Writing, often contracted to write high-end technical white papers, guides, or high-end blogs for global leaders in the technology space.

While collaborating with an array of creatives across multi-disciplinary teams that include Interaction Designers, User Researchers, Developers and Testers, Jessamine develops content for prototypes that, through numerous iterations, become the foundations of robust end-to-end services.

She uses Government Design Patterning and feedback from User Research to ensure users find what they are looking for, in the right place and at the right time. Jessamine is often praised for her ability to easily transform complex policy-based language, simplifying it for the user and enabling them to interact with it easily.

Recent projects include a nine-month GOV.UK Beta-phased venture with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to release a high-profile end-to-end service into the public domain, and a three-month Alpha-phased prototype development with Public Health England (PHE) combining datasets and publications from multiple sources into a streamlined single point of Access (SPoA).
